Biggest Valentine Ever
Play Script

Claire: Pssst, hey Dee-Dee (whispering) did you hear our teacher Mrs. Mousely talking about our big Valentine’s Day party. It sounds like fun! Would you like to help me make a Valentine for Mrs. Mousely as a surprise?

Dee-Dee: Yeah that’s a great idea! Let’s get started!

Claire: Well I’m good at cutting hearts so I’ll cut a big heart. (Exits to get heart)

Dee-Dee: Hmmm, I’ll cut another heart in the middle and then I’ll paste smaller hearts around it. (Exits to get new heart)

Dee-Dee: There you go. (Hands heart to Claire)

Claire: You put too many hearts on it, it doesn’t look good now! I’m going to add some glitter. (Exits and gets new heart)

Dee-Dee: Oh no! You put too much glitter on it! Now it looks terrible.

Claire: Well why, did you make that hole in the middle

Dee-Dee: I thought it looked nice.

Claire: It doesn’t look nice, it looks awful!

Dee-Dee: Well I think it looks very nice, I think your glitter looks awful.

Claire: I don’t want to make a valentine with you!

Dee-Dee: I don’t want to make a Valentine with you!

Claire: I’m going to make my own and Mrs. Mousely will love it.

Dee-Dee: I’m going to make my own and Mrs. Mousely will love it even more.

Claire: Fine!

Dee-Dee: Fine!

(The two exit)

Claire and his Dad enter

Dad: Claire you look sad, what has happened? Can I help?

Claire: I tried to make a valentine with Dee-Dee but we got into a big fight and ruined it.

Dad: You girls make nice valentines on your own but I think you would make a nicer valentine together. I’m sure you will work things through.

Claire: I don’t know

(Claire and Dad exit, Dee-Dee and Dad enter)

Dad:  Dee-Dee you look so sad tonight, what has happened?

Dee-Dee: I tried to make a valentine with Claire but we got into a big fight and then we ruined it.

Dad:  Well I know you can make nice valentines on your own but I think you would make a nicer valentine together. I’m sure you will work things through.

Dee-Dee: I don’t know.

(Dee-Dee and Dad exit, Claire enters with a valentine)

Claire: Well I cut this big heart out but I don’t know how to cut a hole in the middle. I put some hearts on it but I’m not sure I put enough. I put some glitter on it but I think I put too much glitter. Maybe Dee-Dee was right, I think I do need her help.

(Claire exits, Dee-Dee enters)

Dee-Dee: Oh look at my heart; I’m not very good at cutting out big hearts. I cut a nice hole in the middle but I think I put too many hearts on it. I put some glitter on it but I don’t think I put enough glitter. Maybe Claire was right, maybe I do need her help.

(Dee-Dee exits)

(Claire and Dee-Dee enter separately)

Claire: Oh, hello Dee-Dee

Dee-Dee: Hello Claire

Claire: I think maybe should try making our valentine again

Dee-Dee: Well no one said we couldn’t

Claire: Well I have a plan that Mrs. Mousely will love, let’s work together!

(Claire and Dee-Dee put their heads together and start whispering about their plan)

Dee-Dee: Perfect, let’s do it!

(Claire and Dee-Dee exit)

(Claire and Dee-Dee enter and exit each carrying different things and working on the heart)

Claire:  One last touch here, okay Dee-Dee I think we’re done.

(Claire and Dee-Dee hold up the Mouse Valentine)

Dee-Dee: A mouse for Mrs. Mousely! She’s going to love it.

Claire: We worked great together Dee-Dee.

Dee-Dee: Yeah, we’re a great team. Happy Valentine’s Claire!

Claire: Happy Valentine’s Day Dee-Dee!
